88 Turbo Ranger resto

This year my plans are to upgrade the fuel system,add a spool to the 8.8,install a water/meth kit and some bigger injectors so I can crank up the boost to 30psi and see where she goes.

I had the valve cover and compressor housing powder coated for the hell of it.



I put a Snow 2.5 gallon tank in the bed for my meth kit.


Then it was time to say bye bye to the stock fuel system..

I mounted a 15 gallon cell thats plumbed to twin Walbro 255's with pre and post filters.





I have -8 lines going to the rail and back to the tank. I put together a stock fuel rail with tube nuts on it to except the AN hose ends but not sure if Im going to use that or a billet rail Im making.

What injectors did you end up going with? I have some 42's laying around that will get me fired and down the street for now, and step up down the road for e85.

Today I got my new filler cap for the fuel cell. I bought a Earls spin off 3" cap since I hate how the other style lets everything fall into the cell when you remove the cap. This one is raise above the top of the cell so nothing will collect arond the cap and fall in now.



Then I made a trap door in the bed floor.

Ready to bolt bed back on finally.

Rear Suspension

hi, i use explorer rear suspension on my 1rst gen, it looks amazing but i dont like it, it feels very jumpy, perhaps by the low weight.

i read you put foxbody rear shocks, shackle flip to lower it 2" and a monty traction bars, after all of that, how you feel that suspension? very hard? very soft? tell me pls.

Im still using the original leaf springs so if I set my adjustable shocks to full soft it rides like it was a stock Ranger,tighten them up and it gets very firm.

The monty anti-wrap bars didnt work for me at the power level Im at so I now have Caltrac traction bars from Calvert Racing. Truck dead hooks now.


As for updates...

Truck is tore apart while Im getting new motor together and detailing the engine compartment.

I also had Scott Rod Fab make me some black anodized aluminum door panels to replace my tore factory panels.

Update time!

As posted earlier I now have my Scott Rod Fab aluminum door panels installed.
I also got new wheels for the truck from Centerline and some ET Streets so I can run some true street event this year.




Truck is gutted of its drivetrain rite now and this awful pic will serve as the before.

I never should have left the engine bay white. 5 blown headgaskets later its a dam mess under the hood. Im going to clean and degrease everything and repaint it black. Wiring has turned into a mess as well so Im going to clean that up a bunch as well.

Im almost ready to drop a new bullit in and this one is going to finally let me push this truck with no holding back. On top of that it going to be one sexy lookin motor since I had almost everything powder coated this time.

At 30psi and spraying the water/meth Im hoping to put at least 450 to the wheels

What Head gasket are you going to use??

I would go with multi layer copper, or multi layer steel.

Truck does look really nice.

how much did those door panel cost if you don't mind me asking.

Im using a felpro 8993 gasket. No need for anything else.

Panels cost me $150

No clue what the block came out of. Nothing else on the motor is stock or original. The crank came from Esslinger also.
