Alright so I've worked in this truck quite a bit . Its a piece of junk , but its m piece of junk and im proud of it. My dad bought this truck for 500 buck from a friend. For a beach truck the frame was perfect, but the body ha a couple of rust spots.I started this post late , but i will try to post the pictures i have from the start

Work in progress

So right now I'm posting what I've done. On my birthday i decided this beauty of a truck couldn't go to waste. I decided that this would be my future daily driver. At 17 years of age i have a lot of superior skills. I have a great dad. I decided to change the slave cylinder , wich is no simple task. I had to remove the driveshaft transfer case and transmission with all of the other goodies.Unfourtanetly i have no pictures of this but a good 35 hours of my time were put into this. Because of lack of equipment and help. But i am proud of it. The previous owner had changed the engine

Follow up

After this i changed all of the liquids and spark plugs. The truck runs like a beast. Now time to lift it fix some major rust and wait for the tires to arrive (Kendar klever 31/10.50r15:yahoo:

Gotta go cheap without a job

Ok so tomorrow i will show ou the cheap fixes i can make, and the only lift i could afford with some major camber

For a daily driver I wouldn't mess with the lift. I know, they look kewel. But they do cost money to do right and doing it wrong can get dangerous. If you lift it , dont daily drive it. :D

The lift

Hey well i won't be puttin too many miles on this truck but its too late to take it off. It has 5 inches in the back and 4 knuckles in each shock in the front

Hate to say it, but those "knuckles" are in the coil spring not the shock. And they are dangerous. They've been known to launch out of the spring at high rates of speed under the right conditions. Plenty of advice on lifting these older trucks on a budget and it being fairly safe, look in the suspension forum and the tech articles.

Yeah, a much safer alternative to your coil spring "knuckles" would be the washer lift, which is very popular on TRS, in which you stack some large washers under the springs to give some lift or you can swap to some F150 springs for pretty cheap too. As lil_blue said, take a look in the tech library.

Look at his location. He is in Texas. I think it's a law there that you have to lift any truck or SUV above factory ride height.

Reminds me a lot of myself. I'm all about doing things on the cheap and sketchy way too (because of the ever persistence lack of funds).

My only advice for you kid is, whenever you mod something think of safety. You don't want to put yourself or anyone else in danger. I've done some pretty sketchy mods but that's the one rule I follow.

I kinda like the idea of driving around hunting animals with the knuckles from your suspension firing out randomly...bonus points if you don't hurt yourself or anyone else in the process...

But I can see he is trying to do what he can and hopefully will learn a better way from the suspension forum...

It is a nice looking truck...and that rack on the back looks impressive...not bad for a 17 year old...if anyone remembers Jeff (aka Boggin) and some of the pictures he posted...

Yea sorry i meant coil. Thanks i didnt know that they came out i will replace them ass soon as i can. Any advice on how to fix big rust holes?

Mud

Yesterday it rained, something had to be done about this:yahoo: my first time mudding in my own truck!!! The ranger does some pretty good but outs and is a beast in mud, even with the bald tires. The previous owner had a lot of cash in the motor. My iPhones camera glass was scratched so the pictures arent the best
