im not sure if this is the right spot to post this but has anyone ever tried doung a swap similar or same as this i want rack and pinion steering and ifs so im looking at a 2000 anger frame for 400 and was curious if body mounts are the same spot as the 88?

I'm wanting to say yes, but can't say for sure. If nobody replies back by time I get home tomorrow I'll do a little checking.

It can be done. :icon_welder:

It will take fabbing. The 2000 frame is shaped a little different to accomadate A- arm front suspension rather than tib or ttb. It shouldn't be different for the rear from what I understand but if its just a body transplant then it shouldn't be all that tough to figure out, depending on your plans.

On a 2wd it would be alot easier. Are you using the 2000 motor and front axle too? because you'll end up with something weird if you try to mount I beams on the new frame. Either too wide or narrow. And the beam bracket fab would be a sob due to all the measuring to make sure they sit right. And an alignment would be a bear.

I'd say if it were me personally, it better be the complete chassis or it could be a real headache. But.... If you have an alternate rig to use in the meantime, that's a different story and dive in.

Whatever you do, take the time to do it right and make it exactly the way YOU want it the first time around.

frame is here been putzing around with it a little pulled the body off old one tonite plan on seting it on new frame tomorrow all mounts seem to be the same except for the core support their about inch and a half wider but 3 of my body mount bolts busted while i was taking them off so i need new hardware then ill drop body in abd temp. bolt it to place the motor ,drop the motor and make new engine mounts for the third time hahaha hope to have pics soon but its not very easy to upload but have the 8.8 xploder rear in it used 4" lift springs so i just had to bolt it in sits about same as stock alot less work ladder bars going on tomorrow also

btw any1 know what oil pan to use on the 98 and newer frames?? foxbody pan isnt going to clear the rack and sway bar unless motor is mountes really high in the frame alst i pulled a saganaw steering pump off of a chevy does anyone know if there is a backet for it to mount a 302?

Looks like I need to make a how-to on posting pictures from Photobucket. I'll try to remember than when I'm not busy trying to fix everything else.

EDIT: Never mind looks like someone beat me too it. This is a how-to that MountainMike put together: How To Post pictures to the forums. FYI it should work the same on most other Ranger sites, I know it does on RPS since you are a member over there as well.

Well at the risk of being obvious how about a 96-01 Explorer oil pan...

I'd think hard about using the Explorer "front dress" (accessory/pulley setup) as well...

And Explorer engine mounts....

truck is 95% done my build page is here if anyone wants to see and yes that last pic is a hydro hand brake for drifting
