My friends 88 2.3 used to not want to start after driving.(after operating temp) if you would let it sit later it would be fine, fire up and get you home. Then it decided it wouldnt run, i noticed the pump in the tank was not kicking on, so we replaced the relay, would not start. put a new pump in the tank and on rail, wouldnt start and the pump in the tank still wouldnt kick on. ive tested the pumps they both work. put in a 12v toggle to pump in tank, new fuel regulator and fuel filter now it will fire up and run for about 20secs. TOTALLY STUMPED TRIED EVERYTHING THE HAYNES SUGGESTED Please help, thank you-:icon_confused:Ryan

Are you absolutely sure it's a fuel related problem. It sounds like the kind of symptoms you get with a tfi or crank sensor failure.

Smells like TFI. If you can push in on the schraeder valve on the intake and get fuel spraying up, it's probably not a fuel issue.
