87 Ranger Driveshaft Swap

So I have an 87 ranger 4x4 supercab which originally had the two piece driveshaft, but driving home one day it blew apart on me so I read all the discussions on here and purchased a one piece from a 02-11 4x4 supercab ranger(which was said to work) and I installed the 1330-1310 U joint flanges and installed on truck and drove it a couple of days no issues, then started to get a vibration. The front piece of the shaft that slides in and out was barely catching the splines by half an inch. So now I'm not quite sure what to do, I need 62" from center of U-Joint to center of U-Joint(Measured when installed). Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

What manual transmission do you have? (Hint, the tech pages on here have pictures and all).

I don’t remember the measurements, but some of the earlier transmissions were shorter than later ones. I did the 98-11 driveshaft swap on my 92 but it was an auto (A4LD) which is the same length as the later transmissions so I just had to swap a yoke.

If its a 7.5 rear end that would also make the driveshaft potentially come up short. I have an aluminum and a steel one piece shaft for sale in central ohio that I could do some measuring on as well.
