87 2.3 to 88 2.9 wiring problem

truck is 87 2.3efi fm145 4x4. everything worked fine, blew up tranny input,owned for15 years 312,000 swapped in from driving 88 2.9 fm146 4x4 bronco engine & tranny. engine harness stayed on ,relays stayed on, plugged in 2.9 computer. My problem is on drivers fenderwell 1 plug matched up well color to color, 1 plug plugged together but colors of wires don't match,3rd plug is round on v6 engine harness and square ontruck body some colors match up some don't.I cut round plug off bronco harness to make connections. are these harnesses compatable? I guess what I need is wiring diagrams for these two engines for these plugs. I have haynes manual, but it dosen't show from what I can tell.This truck is ready to drive down road, 2months & 2000 grand. help please thanks.
