Hey all,
I am a new huge ranger fan. I got mine a while ago and have added on a semi-truck style exhaust coming out the bed above the cab with a flapper (raincap) on top.

Anyways, Im wondering if I put on a 2" coil spacer in front and 2" leaf spacer in back, will I be able to fit 33in wheels in there ? Do you think it will look good or funny? I am reluctant to hop up to the 4" lift because i use a wheelchair to get around, and puttin it in all the time with a 4 inch lift would be such a hastle.

33's

i rub in the back only if im major flexed with my 31's and i have a 4 inch lift, no fend cutting. if your willing to cut fenders i think they would fit, but ill let someone with more experience answer. nice truck

with a 4" lift and sawzall work my truck clears 33's on wide 10" wheels that stick out.if you cut back the wheel openings 3-4" and used 8" wheels with standard back spacing 33's might barely fit on 2"s of lift.but 32's on stock wheels would be a surer bet with less trimming.32's would also put less strain on your tranny and maybe you woulden't have to regear your axles for the bigger tires

i saw the 2"x2" wood brake and gas levers and remembered a friend has the brake/gas control lever set up that mounts to the dash.you turn it down to brake and pull it for gas if i remember right.anyway he doesn't need it anymore and i could see if he is still getting rid of it and has all the parts for it if you want it.

I have a 2" lift wiht 31s on 15x7 factory wheels. its about as big as u can go without rubbing. maybe a 32 but it woud be close in the front. The rear never rubbed until i put a 1/2 ton in the bed, and the bumpstops rotted off lol.... Josh, how did u lift the back of yours 4 inches? I just wonderin how u got 31s to rub on 4 inches of lift.

- I built my own hand controls, so thank you for offering, but I got it covered.

- okay, so I can back down to a 31" , thats fine by me. I dont NEED 33's. So if I lift it 2" in front and rear, and put 31 X 10.5 X 15 You don't think it will rub at all, even on the 1986 ranger?

stick with 31's, your tranny will thank you, unless you plan on regearing.

you will still need to trim the fender lines up not to rub front and rear even with 31's on a 86.well unless you drive it like a lowrider.

you could lift the front 2inches,so it levels it out, trim front fenders to fit, then flair the bedsides so the back tires tuck and trim the lip out wheel opening. just anouther option.

if you take your time and look at some of the other trucks you can make trimed fenders look pretty good.

soooo whats the story behind the bullet holes?

for the back i lengthened the shackles 6 inches put a 2 inch lift block and add-a-leafs. it used to rub with the 2 inch lift block and add a leafs. will i rub with 33's? i have 4 inch coils in front.

okay everyone, thanks for bearing with me and helping with all your input. I ordered the 2" lift kit from fatbobsgarage.com for $126 shipped. I got some apache 31 X 10.5 tires on 15 x 7 rims. I installed the rear tires with out the lift ... so thats all so far. the pics of it show that there is about 1" space between the fender and tire. a buddy sat on the side of the bed and it touched the tire. I hope this will not happen with the 2" lift when its installed. oh and thats my ruger 10/22 and romanian ak : )

Are u goin blocks or add a leafs in the rear? If using blocks, makes sure it has the part to hit the bumpstop, that will keep the tries from hitting the fenders. If u have add a leafs it should be good to go.

not even close i bought 31s for my truck and put a 3"BL and the rubbed and then i put in 2" wheel spacer adn they really rubbed and then 2" susp lift and still rubbed, and now 4" susp and 3" body now i can clear 32s but i still dont think i can do 33s, all my rubbings in the front

im going to put 2" aluminum blocks in the back. what is a bumpstop? it has a peg on it.
in the front though... im putting the 2" block under the coils. do you think it will rub with the same 31's? will it just hit the fender (which is cuttable) or will it hit something thats not easily cutable?

wtf is up with the bullet holes in the door? am i the only one that seen them?
