86 gen 1 sas build

It's been a while on the updates so here we go.
I got the reader axle in and brakes done alls left on the rear is exhaust, install shocks and put the bed back on.
Front..... Bought the wrong calipers so I had to buy some more. Install those. Make new buckets finish brake lines.
Transfer case is being welded, shaft needs shortened 1/2" than that's done.
Driveshafts need to be made n I can start driving it.

Looks great! Can't wait to see it all finished and out on the trail!

Thank I'm getting anxious.
Another 150 for parts but got my y pipe for the exhaust to go from 2 to 1. I don't want to be that really loud truck on the trail. Plus it sounded like a pissed off chain saw on steroids. So this should quiet it down. I got the flexy lines for the front and some new tools. Should be a productive weekend.

I got the brakes done, front and rear. Just need to bleed. Exhaust partially welded. Shackles are on and snug. Alas left is the t case, drive shafts, shocks and buckets. Almost there!!!!

Can't wait to see it.
I love the shocks you went with.
I am gana get me some of those too!

They'll work great for the front but they are way to long for the rear. I can't wait to get my truck back.

Progress pics!
I still need to ad a few rubber grommets and clamps on the lines but pretty much done.

Looking good! Almost there! :icon_thumby:
How did you do your track bar/ mount?

You need to make your drag link/track bar parallel to each other or it's going to ride like shit. You also need to swap your hub bolts to studs or you'll be fixing them every trip. They have a tendency to work their way out and snap off

Other than that, it looks great. Keep up the good work.

Typically, you want your drag link/ track bar flat at ride height. Most times you can't and have to settle for a slight rake. I would personally raise your track bar mount on the axle and put a couple bends in the track bar to get it correct.

Not quite sure what he meant by the hub bolts. I have never heard of them working themselves out???
But any who, ya topically you do want your drag link and track bar at the same level. Maybe add a little to your track bar mounts on to both sides?
Not quite sure about the bending..... Once something is bent, it will just bend that much easier.

I think it is looking really good!
One thing I might do is add a support to your frame cross member right below your motor. It is real quick and easy to just weld a piece of steel up there, and it will just add some strength back to what you cut off.

Here is a picture showing both my track bar mounts and support piece under the motor. :icon_thumby:
