86 gen 1 sas build

You want the caster set to a certain angle 5-10 degrees. The pinion angle is not as important as the caster to be able to drive on the street

Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 4 Beta

You could also grind the inner c off and keep a good pinion angle and set your castor however you feel

Setback!!!

The axle i used was a lp set up for leafs. i ordered wedges so i could use my fs bronco rad arms. i was in a hurry and set the pinion angle by eye and welded the wedges in which it turned the inner c's forward.

any way thanks guys for the input.

After stewing on it for a few days I've decided to grind the inner c's, turn, and weld them right. Not hard to do but time consuming and tons of grinding and measuring. Shitty but its got to be done.

Buckets made, axle C's cut and turned and welded on, re did the track bar, shocks are almost in and done. Still need to weld the buckets in, and install limiting straps.
T case is ready to be put in and drive shafts are in the works!
Pics soon! Sorry!

Ive got a few pics more to come soon.

While I was doing all this I threw my 37's on just to see.

It's been a long as time since I updated so here are a few things I've done....
Drivers side shock mounted...

Exhaust is done....

I got the cases in and started on the cross braces and it decided to puke. Awesome! Kinda fed up with this doubler. I might pull it out and go with a single until I can figure out what the hell is wrong. I'll have to go to the boneyard and find another tcase. I wish the guy from DD machine woulda answered when I needed him!

Looking good! What is wrong with the t-case?

First time I put it together the two halves didn't fit together. I trimmed got in a hurry and slapped it together and it leaked. Third time I took my sweet time and did a piece at a time and let it sit for two weeks on its side to see if it would leak. No leaks so I faught it in. A month later still has fluid so I start making braces so I could have my jack back and it started leaking.
I'll take it back down and find out what the deal is. If it's a simple fix I'll try again. If not I'll put a single case in it until I get the doubler plate from dd machine and go from there.

Damn it's been a long winter! I should have never taken my wood burner out!
Update time....
The truck is almost done. I had to go with one tcase tired of dicking with it. Bed is back on without the roll bar. Shocks are on and good to go. Fabbed up a air intake out if a ammo can that gets fresh air from a scoop on the hood. Still need to make the scoop. Building drive shafts soon and I should b ready to roll!
Other news, the wife is trying to get a job in Colorado or New Mexico so hopefully ill b in 4x4 heaven soon! Not many pics yet but soon!

It out under its own power! Bust ass to get it done I haven't posted much.
Almost there just a few small things left.
Timing
Exhaust gasket
License plate and light
Shifter boot
Extend shifter
Tweak the tcase shifter
Bolt toolbox in bed
Bleed brakes again
done!:yahoo:

It took forever! Collect all parts first. It would have been a quick build if I had everything first. I'm happy with the results so far. Good luck on your sas.

What a killer weekend! Had a bunch of friends finish their rigs at the same time and we all decided to go to the cliffs insane terrain offroad park for a test and tune. I was the only one on 33s. I followed 38" tires the whole day.
My rig did amazing. I lost a shock bolt ( forgot to tighten one). The leafs fanned out because I forgot to install the retainers. Wheeled the whole day with a ratchet strap holding them. Other than that it it did amazing!
I lost a mirror, dented a few panels, and lost a tail light. I think within 15 feet of one of the trails. Only a few pics but one great day.
First trail.

Carnage.

Stupid tree than cost me all the body damage. And busting my ass pulling winch.

Forgot the damage and my really cool find.
Damage....

And I pick this up at noon tomorrow.

The guys wife wanted it gone and jokingly said $400 u could have it. I said sold! Ran to the ATM and I pick it up in the morning! I wish I had my trailer right there it would be at its new home.
