well finally dragged home another ranger to the fleet, this is 6 trucks so far and i dont even has a lisence yet :thefinger:

first thing i gotta do is get her going. after i got her home, plugged her in to the batt charger, and all the lights came on, and i turned the key and couldnt hear no fuel pump, so i was like shit, so i tried a couple times, then one time i could almost feel a little tingleing in the floor, so i turned the key again and listened very closely and sure enough i can hear it, but its very quiet, im used to them being loud as hell.

anyways, thats figured out. now i had her on the charger for a long time, and i would press in the clutch and it would just hear 1 tick and nothing, so my starter isnt engaging. great.

i got down on the ground and tapped the starter with a hammer, still nothing, so at this point it was dark and rainy very heavy, and i never got her in the garage yet, so i said enough of this for tonight.

i never thought about crossing out the sylenoid, ill have a friend do it for me tomorrow while i press the clutch

ill get pics later

finally!!! night shots, but looking good! my uncle had an 83 with the same bug shield on the hood, and the same rims, his was dark blue with white rims, dang i miss that truck:bawling: it was diesel, perkins engine, 2.2 if not wrong
nice find man, hope to see some good work on it soon!

Boggin, you dont need to press the clutch for solenoid starting. The nuetral safety switch only affect the engine. Just turn the key to on and connect away. Good find, I like it. Is that a winch bumper?

thanks man and nope just an ordinary aftermarket bumper, ive seen a few of them around trs, i think i might keep it on there rather than put on the push bar i have now

well the sylenoid was a weird one with the post on different ends so i couldnt cross it out, so i put on my other sylenoid and crossed it out and she still wont turn over, and she wont even make 1 tick when i turn the key ahead, and the sylenoid came off the other ranger and ive crossed her out several times to get her going
so does this mean my starter is bad, or theres a cable off my starter?

well i was just talking to Jon {fx2prerunner} he was a great help and walked me through some steps, i touched the battery charger at the post of the starter and its still not turning over, yay

just haul the starter off the Bll and try that, its either the starter, solonoid, or a connection, keep picking, youll find it, you got my number anything I can help with just message away...

Make sure you save any parts from that bronco that your not using, Hood, Fenders, doors (if there good) any trim peices, lots of people looking to buy that stuff, alot of those parts will fit the pickups from that body style, could fund your SAS

^^ thanks alot buddy for all your help, not sure if u got my text just then but i put the ranger starter on her and she turns over when i cross the sylenoid out :D

she went the first turn and shot out some smoke and she wont go now but the battery is getting low and my charger sucks so im gonna wait for a bit and i might clean out the idle control valve while im waiting

thanks alot Jon, you were a huge help, you deserve that 9" i told you about

well i was turnin her over again by crossing out the sylenoid, and she went the first time for a bit but then she dies out again, but she still wont turn over with the ignition?? what does that mean?

LOL was that a 5 puck body lift? Holy shite. Its prolly your ignition cylinder in the steering column. bUt it could be ground wires, Most of the ford ground wires are unprotected so check for corroded wires, loose connections. check the battery for corrosion. Keep in mind the ignition only has so many parts to its system, check things one by one. You'll find it. OH CHECK FUSES TOO.

yea thats what i thought, its 5" on the cab but 3" on the bed, so im guessing he removed the bushings so its truly on 3" of BL (if the bushings were 2", probably 1.5) and my sig says 5" cause its 3" body lift and 2" coil spacers and extra leafs
