86 ext cab- project fullwidth

it sounds like ether a bad battery, bad battery connections, or a short in the wire that goes to the starter. make sure that all the connections are clean and tight. and check that the wire that goes to the starter isnt shorting to the frame. and iff possable try switching out the battery for one that is known to be good.

i know that battery is good, i can fire up my B2 anytime i want.

tomorrow or sometime im gonna take the starter wire from the old ranger and put on her and see if that one works, this is really pissing me off i want to get her going

well tomorrow if i remember i will pick up some battery terminals along with changing the starter wire
if she dont go then, i gues ill just...um...idk

...real quick...dont ever hook up the battery charger to the starter solenoid like you said you did....ground for the charger always goes on the body....the neg post of the battery or somewere on the engine. if the starter just clicks when you try to jump it check the grounds going from the engine to the body/frame if there are none put some on. get the truck cranking under just battery power as in no battery charger. once it does that if you cannot hear the fuel pump run find out which wire is ground and which wire is power for the fuel pump. jump these wires with the charger or a spare battery and see if you get fuel. it sounds like the truck has no grounds and by the looks of it and the corrosion i can see them being gone.

well since ive been banned, my dad bought a motorcycle and had to get my ranger out of hte garage and in the back garden, so since i put her back there i just forgot about her, and i started to take the cab off to put my reg cab and long bed on cause the cab on her is shot, so i didnt get the cab completely off so im gonna bolt the cab back down to her and wehn the snow leaves shes goin back in the garage and starting at the project again. also since this i bought an 88 bronco II that ifixed and am now selling her. so now the ranger is out back snowed in with the rest with the manifold off her and when i went out the other day and looked at her i seen moss and shit in the valves for the manifold and everything so a mechanic told me to stick a shop-vac down there and suck it out and put it back together and she will blow all that shit through her, im gonna try it anyways and if that motor is toast i will put my spare 2.9 in her im also gonna try to get a new gas tank and im gonna put new lines in her

i went out today and lodged the cab back down on the frame and buttoned some of the wiring back together, i could wire it all back up becuse the manifold isnt on, and i had to look at the other ranger a couple times to see where the wires went but when the snow goes im bringing her bck up to the shed and we will see from there, for now i just wanna get the cab bolted back down

well all the wiring in this thing is ****ed and so is everything. if I can find an old jeep for next to nothing then im gonna put the front axle in the reg cab 2wd ranger, and use the trans and tcase from the ext cab. but i dont wanna change the crossmember any time soon, well unless i put in a 4.0 i might do it all at once and make a big ass project out of it, since she is in the best shape out of all of them

had a buyer for the ext cab but he backed out today hes going back to work so he cant get it. looks like im gonna start doing her up again
