Aren't the single pump fuel gauge senders a different resistance though?
That's true for 89+. The combo that works is an 86-88 sending unit and 89+ pump - you get a single high pressure pump in the tank and your gas gauge will work.
I used that heater hose fitting on mine to replace the normal one that was on my Crown Vic engine. The thing I hated about that fitting was that it went straight up and was 3/4 instead of 5/8 so I had to run a reducer and a piece of 3/4 hose. I don't know what application it is for but it worked perfectly for me to get the heater hose at a good angle and retain the factory coolant temp sensor.
