If carb, I have the one I pulled out of my 85 when I swapped it from carb to EFI a few years ago. May take some looking to find it but I definitely kept it. I would assume that it would be the right part - it would be helpful if someone else can verify though as I don't know what changes year-to-year 84 to 85.

Also worth noting that the only real reason to need to replace the entire thing is rust damage to the tube or mounting plate. The actual sender for the gauge can generally be replaced, as can the float.
It's carb I'm pulling the tank and replacing it because of rust was trying to find a new one but I haven't seen the condition of the original sending unit yet
I know this is from a few months ago but I need the part in the picture above posted by kishy. It seems that new fuel sending units for old rangers are hard to find. I need two actually for my two 1985 rangers. I have researched everywhere I can think of. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
