8.8 tone ring

i will be swapping in an lsd carrier. currently ABS does not work and has not worked since i've bought the truck. i haven't looked into it much yet, not real concerned about abs functioning right now.

i do need to know if there is a tone ring on the current carrier. are all 97 rangers at least rear abs, meaning there will be a tone ring on the carrier?
assuming it does have a tone ring, how is it installed? from what i can gather it is an interference fit but can the tone ring be installed after the ring gear is on? i see the notch on the carrier flange that would seem to make that a bit difficult, but from what i've read a few people have said it can be done.

99% of 8.8s have the tone ring. It can NOT be installed after the ring. I have a few hanging on the wall if for some reason you end up needing one.

i'd like to have one so i can put the carrier together before i tear the back end apart. i hope to do this as quickly and safely as possible, not always easy.

i'm guessing all the ranger tone rings are the same. if so let me know what you'd let one go for.

Its not really an interference fit. The ring gear is used to pull and hold the tone ring tight to the carrier.

Since i haven't had my carrier out yet to look, i'm hoping i have the ring on correctly. Anyone verify this for me?
