im tryin! im bustin ass on this engine, ill be ordering my cam and roller rockers on friday. one more month at the most and the engine will be finished, then i gotta rebuild the tranny. after that its pretty much just mounting everything an getting her running. :yahoo:
 
I get a crazy deal with Fedex, so I'll check on it for ya. They are heavy though. I have TONS of valvetrain parts, just no valves. Most everything I have is new FRPP. I bought a full roller cam kit so it's no good to me. I'll go through it all this weekend for an inventory and let you know.

No prob. I think the DOVEs are too much head for what you need. Pump gas isn't an option. It's why I stuck with a 429. Compression is more manageable. The valvetrain parts are good though. I've got guideplates too somewhere
 
DOVE-Cs too much head? I'll be adding .65" of stroke, taking. 020" off the deck, running bigger valves with a full port and polish on mine and i'm concerned they won't breath well enough.

By far a better head than the D3s though.
 
DOVE-Cs are too much head when looking at a 460 daily driver (RE: 87 octane). Unless he has some dished pistons to drop down the compression. If high octane gas, custom cam and some dyno tuning are planned, then making higher compression, with cast iron heads can be made streetable.

I've got the FRPP aluminum heads and a custom roller cam. That's how I'm gonna get away with 11.2:1 on the street. I've got some more things planned, but I'll wait till I fire the thing up before I advertise. Everything I've done thusfar with the engine is to make it live with the compression and have a safe margin. Not running on the edge.

You will be limited with the DOVEs with 545 cubes. Fully ported I've read they can support 700HP though. Did you ever check out the reincarnation website?
 
I could care less how fast she'll turn. Horse power is derived from torque, and thats what i'm after. I'm sure i'll never achieve my goal of 1000 lbs/ft, if i even make it in the ballpark i'll be happy.

Enough of the thread jack lets get back to the guy thats actually spending money and making progress.

itll be awhile before shes even close to done, im just building it check to check. i keep enough for gas for 2 weeks and enough for a few cases of beer then the rest is goin into the build............thats the plan anyway :icon_twisted:

wheeelllp, im off to work. after im done at 4PM i will have worked 32 out of 48 hours and slept for a whopping 2 hours collectively:shok:....and i still got 2 more days of doubles... YAY :annoyed:
 
I think you missed the point there bud. The girl with the ring gets to ride shotty. As for the work, good luck man! Could be worse you could be working more overtime than regular time....
