7.5L_STX: SAS, Big Block Swap

Lol I kinda only meant while bound up in rocks or whatever. On pavment id still be doing a few burnouts and such

The guy who ground my cam said to use tires under 35". That way you'll never get traction to break anything. Hahaha.

well im plannin on 37s for DD duty.

UPDATE:
got my cam and gears installed, decided not to use my roller rockers as it was a big hassle with the heads i have so i got a stock set of rockers and new pushrods. thats all installed. now i just have to get my timing right and put it all back together.

ill be ordering my intake and a few other things on friday and when those things come in she should be ready to plop into the ranger!!

Bout damn time!

37s as a DD... Hmmm.. I guess we all have different ideas on what a DD is. I drive in snow. 10.5" inch is as wide as you ever want for that. I'm also building for mileage ( yes, it is a big block). So those were my 2 main concerns. That rules out the big tires... For now.

if you do alot of highway driving bigger tires will actually give you better miliage.. as long as your holding the same speed

i owe you rep :icon_rofl:

i only drive 14 miles back and forth to work everyday, so if i found a set of 40s i would still DD it lol.

really? that sounds fishy but if its true, Right On!:headbang:

its pretty much just highway that it works on. i think.... i used to know the explanation but for some reason its completly escaping me right now...

the engine is turning less RPM's, it burns a little more fuel to get the tires turning, but once your up to speed, you burn less because of lower rpm's

when I was driving big truck, one boss I had took the low pro's 22.5 off my truck and put tall 24.5 on it, then had the speed'o redone, I ended up getting between 2 to 2.5 miles per gallon better, and this in a 14 liter 60 series Detroit, and a Eaton-Fuller 9 Speed with overdrive, with 3.55 rear ends.

i run mine in the snow all day long with 37x14.5's. i cant really say dd it since i have a company vehicle. but i never hesitat to hit the road with it. she doesnt act too nicely in wet heavy snow or slush tho. but from my experience no tire does.
