I have a 3.o V6 It is lifted 4 inches with 33's....but 5-6mpg? Come on something has to be wrong? Any ideas what to look for or replace? Any advice would be nice.:dunno:

... we kinda need specs on anything have you tried anything. what gears you have and anything else you notice hate to think my truck will get 5-6 what goin up 4in. on tires

It has a cold air intake, and a exhaust, it has 4.10s in the rear.

then no something is not right but duno what. is these any blue smoke exhaust or any sluggishness you notice?

Go for the easy stuff first. Run a diagnostics check.

did you get your speedo re-calibrated after tire/gear change?????????????????

sounds shitty to me, man. 5-6 mpg sounds like shit, something definitely ain't right.

check for vacuum leaks, and also for any SLIGHT gasoline leaks that might possibly be occuring before it arrives at the intake manifold. umm..lets see, what else might it be.. OH check sensors, you might have a faulty 02 sensor or something thats registering your exhaust gases wrong (saying they're too lean), or not at all, and so the computer's trying to fix it by dumping fuel into the cylinders. In other words try the basics first..it might be a cheap fix, no use getting worked up and throwing all kinda money at something that might not even be the problem, especially when there's simpler, cheaper things to try first.

Perhaps there is a glitch in your math.. 5 or 6 mpg would make a lot of smoke and your cat would fry in a very short while. Try the milage thingy again..

As others have said check the basics. Also it may sound stupid but check all your plug wires and spark plugs. Only time i ever got that horrible of mileage was when i first got the truck and it was running on 3 cylinders and when i done plugs once and mashed a couple threading them in. Needless to say it's another thing worth checking. I say go for the easy and cheap stuff first. Hope you get it figured out, i know the pains of crappy mileage though your 5 to 6 mpg makes me think the 12 to 13 i get is great. lol.

The truck does not smoke at all, no white smoke, blue smoke, or black smoke.

It used to get about 11-12 but it dropped like crazy.

My truck has a 20 gallon tank, I completly filled it up. Reset trip odometer I drove 50 miles and I had half a tank. 50/10=5 Being 17 and still in high school and working part time, gas bills are costing me an arm and a leg everyweek. I do go to a technical highschool taking up automotive so I will go over everything you guys have listed and let you know how I make out, this is what happened to me today...

My wheel bearing completly blew apart, I snapped the caliper mounting bracket, brake pads fell out, and I destroyed my rotor all while driving down the road. $300.00 later its all fixed.

I can't recommend driving without a tire or wheel......... I think that's what was hurting your mileage, must have been the suspension scooting on the ground.

I'm assuming you're ruling out two very basic things -
1 - The gas guage is broken(mpg should be verified by refilling the tank anyways, not by the guage)

and if this is the first time your gas mileage has been this bad
2 - Someone "borrowed" some of your gas.

i really hope you answer this but i think i have your truck. the gas mileage BLOWS!!! can you let me know who you sold this to. i got it for a guy name kyle. the 4x4 doesnt work, and i got 28 miles to a quarter of a tank. my truck looks EXACTLY like yours. i wanna know how bad this guy ****ed me over if its the same truck
