4x4 v8 Ranger

Thanks guys it was a fun race and we worked really well as a team it was a good way to finish the season.
a quote from my dad at the finish line.
DAN CHAMLEE, No. 700 (First in class.) We did all the silt beds and hill climbs and never got stuck but we did have a third member break and cooling fan failure. It was a completely different brand and style of fan and it turned out to be defective. We took a spare with us, kept going and the new one was fine. We just couldn't believe it (after having several fan failures in past races.) I get within 100 miles and I think we are home free and something breaks. The broken third member took about an hour and a half to repair.

I built a seat that goes in the receiver so I don't have to walk during contingency. Also will work good to strap parts to to run into the course

Some more updates. I think we have decided to go ahead and build the 302 that is in the truck now instead of looking around for a 351. It's going to get the truck up and running much quicker and easier since the first race is just over a month away. We might still switch to a 351 based motor someday as well as 4.0 shocks.

We got rid of even more of the frame. The frame ends just after the radius arms.

our letter to MORE.
The rules look good. $500 entry fee with a payback is ok with us. Regarding rule #2 To make the rule more fair to everyone with different cab sizes allowing the frame to end at the rear suspension pick up or rear of transmission would be better. This way you are not required to leave more of the frame just because you have an extracab or crewcab.

Picked up some important pieces for the truck today.
Got the new hubs in so my dads spares can go back in the Chase truck and we can assemble the front and rear axles. We don't have the driveplates/hubcentrics yet so we can't actually bolt on tires. but we can put on the hubs and axles andeverything else so it should be sitting on it's own wheels soon.

got a lot of work to do on the cab. It's got to be completely stripped so we can cut the floor out of it and slip it over the cage.

More new parts. Free 5.0 can't complain about that.

Lots of updates.
We have the cab cut apart and ready to start fitting over the cage.

we got the seats and petals mounted. Clutch and gas are hooked up. Brakes just need lines run. The headers are almost done, we only have one tube left to make for the drivers side rear cylinder.

We started on the dash and cut the hood to fit In place so we can see if the dash is too tall.

We are using the stock mustang clutch cable and made a bracket to attach it to a cnc pedal assembly so we don't have to worry about boiling clutch fluid next to the exhaust
