4x4 v8 Ranger

The reason the coils are on the radius arm is because that is where they had to go for me to get 24in of travel out of the front. It's better to use a longer bypass then coilover so it has the least amount of leverage on the shock and it can work the best. If the coilover was on the beam I would need much longer and more expensive shocks to accomplish the same thing.

Some updates on the truck, its sitting on its own wheels and we should be filling the radiator tonight its getting really close to running.

It's gonna have a really tiny bed.

We are still trying to decide if the back wall is going back in, it makes it a lot harder to get to the shocks but it makes it look more like a truck, instead of making a new firewall just behind the seats

Radiator is full, battery cables are run, the truck is really close to being ready to run, the wiring harness is 90% complete. We finished welding the body to the cage, filled in the holes around the a pillar and put in the only piece of firewall that is not removable, the rock guard. It's a stainless steel plate to keep rocks and sticks from coming in at our feet.

I finally got to drive the truck today, didn't drive it far but got check the steering and clutch. We have started mounting fenders, and lights. We have the amber lights, the 3rd brake light the cargo lights and the interior lights hooked up. I'm getting really excited to go out and run this thing.

I drove the truck here under its own power. Crazy.

Some fun updates. We have been working on designing our own wheels and we are finally getting somewhere. We should have the first batch milled and ready for the next race. The wheels are a ultra light forged aluminum wheel with watersheding beadlocks. They are twice as strong and half the weight of a normal aluminum wheel. We will be dropping 17lbs of unsprung rotational mass off each wheel(with spares that's almost 100lbs of weight removed off the vehicle) . This will significantly increase braking/acceleration, improve handling and keeping the stress down on all the suspension components making them stronger and less likely to fail.
I cant wait to get them on the truck they are going to be amazing.

that's pretty freakin cool... i have no idea what watersheding beadlocks are, but they should awesome!!

Watersheding beadlocks are part of the new design we have come up with. The design of a beadlock wheel creates a lip that sticks up into the wheel opening to attach the bolts to. That lip holds water and not only will eventually stain the wheel if the water sits in the lip long enough, it makes It so centrifugal motion doesn't shed the water out of the wheel so it will pack up with mud/water and make the tire out of balance from the mud sticking to one spot. I've got cad drawings of the ring I'm talking about but I can't show that so u will have to wait till the wheels hit the market in the next couple weeks.
Here is the wheel though. Just no ring on it.

Here is a pic of a normal beadlock that's been sitting for a while.

Everything is looking great buddy!

Looks like I found a pic I could crop down well enough to show the ring. This was a early drawing so the wholesaler are wrong but u get the point.

Look what I picked up for the new truck.... brand new brotex race heads. Only problem with them is the port size is huge so we will have to make sure we set the motor up to match so we don't lose a bunch of torque

O snap. On the way to Mexico for its first test drive and we lose the waterpump putting it on the trailer. Awesome Haha
