4x4 indicator half-lit with 4x4 off

I just bought a '92 4x4 supercab with Warn manual locking hubs. The 4x4 indicator light beside the 4x4 button is still lit, but dim, even with 4x4 turned off. If I hit 4x4, it lights up properly, and 4x4 engages properly. Does that half-lit light mean there's a problem somewhere? Is there a cause for that?

Second semi-related question: I'd like to find an owners manual to tell me how low range engages and other fun stuff like fluid specs...I know it works if I'm stopped, but do I risk damage if I try to engage it while moving? The Ford site has manuals for '96 and newer, anyone got the 90-92 manual (electronic version) laying around?

i work for ford and can look around in the 92 manual. mine does that to but i never looked into it

i had the same problem with myne, when i relocated the switch i noticed the pins that go into the plastic conector were not very well placed.... after jiggling and what not i figured out it was those on myne.
i beleive this was from the several times the dash has been removed... i just found a decent looking conector off of a explorer and spliced it in and havent had a anyproblems.

id pop it out and see if the pins are loose when connected to the switch
