4wd Conversion on 1997 2wd Dually 7.3L PSD

I love jacked duallys... i run 35x12.50s on 3.55s its not horrible but id prefer 4:10s. Although i do have an idi and a 5speed.

I want a pic of this IDI! :D

Ive only got two decent ones on my phone

I have a 4'' lift thats going in after i do my taxes and can order some 38x14.50 mud grapplers

My one ton looks identical to yours Kris, but mine has a flat style utility bed on it, and mine has the 5.8l with the zf. I want to find a powerstroke to slide between the framerails, but I've got too many other projects going on right now to think about that one...

rollin' coal is gay.

I think that the 4.10s and 315s would be about right for cruising and power. Do you know anyone who has 2 on wheels you could borrow? Just toss them on the back even if they are one single rims and drive it to see if you are happy with how it runs. They would probally tuck under there as it sits if on singles because the dually inner wheel well is bigger.

Meh makes a good pic. Pretty much the only time it does it is if i make it do it or its actually working hard. And svt id like to find a 12 valve for it almost had one then my buddy sold it..

With 3.55s and 35s im figuring out my mpg by hand keeping track of fuel that goes in and my mileage by gps and so far it looks like i get 15mpg. Again not exactly the same being non turbo and stick but hopefully it gives u an idea

Kris, I got a stock idi turbo, intake hat, downpipe and matching airbox if your interested in turboing your idi. It uses the stock exhaust manifolds, but there is an adapter that bolts to the passenger manifold that redirects to the turbo (which is the only piece I don't have) turbo has play so it will need rebuilt, but I'll let it go cheap if your interested...

I am doing the very same conversion to my 95 350 dually. I went with leaf spings and a shackel flip kit.

Well, unfortunately this project is being put on hold. I need a new driveway and a new roof on my barn. Plus I have a few out of state weddings to attend this year. So I am selling the D60 I have and a few other things. I am keeping the dually outters and the front DS as those are harder to come by. Hopefully I can start collecting parts again after summer. The 4wd will happen as I do need it. :(

Anyone need a '87 D60 or '87 F350 Frame?

Well, I have been collecting parts for this.

Got used 3.55 D60 gears off Pirate for $20 shipped.
Got new 3.55 10.25 gears for my birthday last month.
Got a buddy lifting his 6.0L soon so I am buying his OEM coils for cheap. TTB coils will be way too stiff.

I did sell my D60 and all the other parts I collected. So I will have to start looking for those again this fall. I did keep the dually hubs and driveshafts I collected. So I need to find another D60, doesnt matter if its SRW or DRW or 4.10 or 3.55. If I do find a 3.55 drw one, that would be sweet. I am going to run a divorced 205 for a tcase.

I was going to drop it 3/5, but it just doesnt fit my lifestyle. I love slammed duallies though. I am going to do the 4wd swap with wedge mounted arms. I want to run 305/70/16 tires with 2" spacers on stock Alcoas. Not looking to lift it. I want a low and wide stance with the wheel wells filled.

My wife and I made a few big decisions of the last few weeks that will allow me to have some more project cash starting next year.

I almost bought a 97 CrownVic over the weekend. I was going to use the 5.0 for the Ranger and pull the autoclimate control setup and swap it into this truck. But that is not top priority. So I let my buddy sell it to someone that will not part it out lol

97 Crown Vic would be a 4.6 I believe....not worth the work to fit that wide SOB in in Ranger IMO.
