4wd Conversion on 1997 2wd Dually 7.3L PSD

I want to use 6.0L coils and use these brackets

http://ballisticfabrication.com/Flat-bottom-radius-arm-coil-mounts_p_1184.html.

However, I have not looked into this too deep yet. I know the drivers side leaf perch is cast to the pumpkin so I will have to work around that. I might have to set the coil seat pretty high meaning I would probably need to use my stock 2wd coils. I have to do some measuring. If it looks like it will take too long, I will just do a leaf setup for the time being.

Those are nice brackets. I used the same set on my Bronco when I swaped to front links. On a side note I saw your old truck at Summit this past Sat.

Haha. No kidding. My grey flatbed superduty? He lives in east ohio near Summit. My friends have seen that truck everywhere from Pittsburg to SE Ohio to Cincinatti to Erie PA. I am glad he is driving it!
How was the rust on the doors? They have to be pretty bad at this point.

Did you ever sell that 79 Ford Dually with the Cummins? I think that was yours

Yea that grey truck. It didn't look too bad other than the tires looked about shot it was still decent. Yea I sold that truck in June. I bought a 2000 F350 dually Lariat with a 7.3 and ZF6. I really like it alot.

Nice buy! That is the best year for the 7.3 in my opion if its a F350. You get the front 60 (F350 only), forged connecting rods and the bigger turbo. The ZF6/Lariat makes it even better.

Yea I really got lucky with it. The color and options I wanted. Its kinda odd it has leather but a rubber floor. Plus it had over 4K in extras when I bought it.

Have you looked on powerstrokenation.com? There is a guy who just converted his cclb drw to 4we. He did a whole write up on it using the 05+ axels.

currently doing a 4x4 460 V8 89 F350 conversion right now. Yours is coming great. I am personally using the 84 F250 D50 TTB axle. Kinda wish ours was a dually.

Yep. I actually met one of those guys somewhere once. The guy with the silver one, it was in a DP magazine once. The blue truck I have talked to, but not met personally.

I have a 90s KP D60 so I am going to see what I can do with those. I am trying to stay away from leafs even though they are cheap and easy. I just have to work around the drivers cast leaf perch on the axle. Shouldnt be a big deal. Just need the weather to come around a bit haha.

I have made some progress. Since it is cold, i started remodeling the lower level of my house. Once it gets warmer, I would like to dig into this project.

Got the D60 out. I also traded the track bar assembly for dually hubs. Just need to get them cleaned and turned.

Look at Kyle M's build, he used a 90 kp 60 and used 44 radius arm setup on it. He trimmed the leaf pad attached to the housing just enough to fit the wedges. I had the same idea about the time he did his. Nick (1badexplorer) hooked me up with a set of wedges cheap. He might have another set if you decide to go that route. I'd really like to see you go the coil spring route as well. I think you will like the ride better...

No kidding! I am very interested. Is that how it is on his ranger setup? Or does he have a full size build? I looked up his handle quickly and noticed he had a few builds.
I have bought some D44 things from Nick. I need to shoot him a text lol

Also picked up a cap for it of CL. It was priced well and color matched. It will be nice to have a place to lock tools and a dry plave to sleep while I am out wheelin.

Yes, this picture is also a 2wd FAIL. My driveway was solid ice and i thought the ground would be harder than it was...
