4r44e NEED HELP

hey guys im a new ford ranger owner as well as a new member here on TRS. I just purchesed a 2000 xlt from a friend at work knowing it had a transmission problem. the truck runs and drives great, it only did not shift into overdrive. so i did tons of research and figured out it was a blown valve body gasket. i then ordered a valve body gasket set and a transgo shift kit from trans parts usa. After installing the shift kit i reinstalled the vb with new gaskets. filled trans with new mercon v fluid. now as soon as i start the truck it does not move in any gear. when u accelerate the engine the truck feels like it wants to move forward in all gears. not sure where i screwed up. i need all the help i can get this is my first time working on transmissions. aswell this is my only vehicle and need it running soon. and if i had the money i would of took it to a shop but funds are low and tried saving some money by doing it my self. any ideas or comments will be apprciated, thanks.
 
If you put it in first or second does it move

i DIDNT KNOW THE 4R44E was still used in 2000, even with 4 bangers... thought it was the 5r55e series like my exploder, however I had this same problem after switch a new trans in and messing with the solenoids. most likely a solenoid is not seated properly in the VB, My truck sat for 3 months waiting for a vb rebuild kit and eventually after all the trans shops telling me it was shot, I puled the pan and took out all the solenoids, made sure they wre clean and clear of any gasket materials, reinstalled them EXTRA carefully, fresh fluid, (flush the cooler if you have one) and it drove around like it never quit.
 
yes it moves a little in 1st and 2nd. but feels like something is locked up.


i will try and remove all valves and check for gasket or any dirt that got in there. that might be the probleme since the old vb gasket was blown out and missing some gasket.
oh and its 4x4 3.0 dont no if that makes a difference.

I just had the same problem with my 99 the overdrive clutch was burnt up and the one way sprag was spinning both ways
