4BT '94 Ranger & EB D44 SAS (no56k)

M5ODR-2 or small block ZF. 44-06 from a 97-98 f150 or navigator.(99+ doesnt have a speed sensor in the t-case. Without it, no speedo.)

been doing a little research and im likeing the ZF5 idea. yea the speedo would be nice to have, lol.

what kind of mileage can be gotten out of a 4bt in a ranger 4x4. say in stock form or very slightly "turned up", no lift, AT tires, maybe a 3.55 gear, etc. as of right now with 3.73s and my bone stock 4.0 manual and 31" load range E tires im getting 18.5-19.3mpg going back and forth to work, id think a 4bt cummins would yeild me close to or 30mpg.:dunno:

T-Case mounted

next up is the rear, and still debating wether to switch to coil overs in the front. having trouble with these dam leafs out front

you're capping those holes off before driving it right?

if i have time, it has to be road worthy by april to make a truck show. i dont plan on wheeling it so its towards of the end of things to do on my list. might have to wait till after the show.

guess you missed my build pics lol. no oil pan notching here, i am also a hella lot taller than the exploder kev is running.

as for the wedges and all that other stuff, id rather go DOM radius style looks nicer and actually would probably be cheaper.

So Kev doesn't hate us for clogging up his thread...

So you are thinking Jeep style radius arms then eh? I'm digging it. Let me know what you need help with. I have plenty of friends with well built TJs who can give input.

As for build pics, I have looked at 5 different 4BT RBV builds almost daily. Forgive me if they all run together. Lol.

By the way.... We need to talk about that front bumper...

You're going to have to back your dually up into that bumper first. :icon_rofl:

ill make sure its on there if i make it to carlisle!! should still be able to. its first week of august and still need to do steering, radiator connections, fuel cell and lines, relocate batteries, driveshaft(s), rear suspension, rear/front brakes. see what happens!

This is a great way to go! Excellent work sir. Your effort towards recording the work is most appreciated!!! What kind of mpg when it was 2wd? What is the expected drop with the 4x4 conversion?

Thank you for the informative thread.

about 25 bc i was geared to tall for highway, after 4wd i am hoping 30-35, but i have a HE341 and bigger injectors so it may have a little impact on milage. have to figure out how to get an accurate odometer and speedo once its done though...
