See that's where I have the advantage. I have plenty of room and a truck and trailer to haul off to the scrapper.
I also just read that a manual shift 4406 case will work. Now I just need to locate a 4 speed auto. Will the E4OD in the 97 f150s bolt up to the 3.9 with no issues?
105 or 120 depending on pump
M5R2 '97 f150
yes ford divorced style
The bread vans came with Ford manual trans small block adapters (or GM autos). So any small block bolt pattern trans will bolt up, stay away from the mod motor trannys.(they can be drilled and made to work, right Dave.)
You will have to modify the adapter and find a flexplate that will work if you want to run an auto trans. (or spend 1K+ on a Destroked adapter.)

The 4bt bolts up to the M5R2 and the M5R2 bolts into the ranger?
So what about a 700R4 from a 350 4wd and the 241 case behind it? I will go check out the stickies on 4BT
Might be a stupid question but oh well. what about using the factory ranger 5spd and t case out of say a 4.0 4x4. I've seriously thought about converting my 4.0 to diesel but would like to keep it simple as possible and make it seem almost factory.
so what would i have to do to be able to still have a OD (5spd) manual tranny with a tcase that has and works like the OEM one (push button) to make it like a factory installed option?
