What makes you think you can import them? There are so many rules you have to follow it becomes way too expensive or impossible to import.
Dave

You could probably import them as an incomplete parts vehicle with some minor paperwork/frame chopping. Some of the fancier engines from overseas that were never sold under very high numbers (or at all) in North America can be imported this way, and you get everything you need unmolested, except the back half of the vehicle... Edit: Oh, and you have to specify use for a vehicle 25 years old or older or something. It's been a few years since I researched all of this.

Besides from being different and neat to see, they don't pass crash standards in the U.S. once stretched to 4 doors. Which is why Ford created the Sport-Trac from the Explorer platform, this DID pass safety standards with 4 doors.

It would get a lot of looks in the USA if you had a 4 door Ranger like those. Can you still buy new Rangers in Mexico ?

Pretty cool, I know people import vehicles. They have to be a certain numbers of years old or something. I'm sure it wouldn't save you money.

On another note. I like it! Always wondered why ford never sold one here with the popularity of the Tacoma and its own 4door full size.

Had a dealer buddy of mine tell me it boiled down to the profit margin was so much better on the f150 that they did away with the completion within its own brand.

I think they lost sales though

Ive seen a couple of these mex vehicles and I like the look, but there would be so many hassles to try. New glass, reinforced doors etc. actually the wheel base looked almost same as a SC but probably a little longer still had same bed I think. The 4dr explorer is ok I was looking for one when I thought mine was dying and I was gonna need a new engine, but didnt think they would be so $$, but they were. Tell ya what, the lady across they street from me has a son who takes our stuff to mex to resale scrape and he just took a nice ranger down there from the auctions so I know they like em. A lot a the 4 cyls

Did Ford actually crash test the 4dr Ranger or just go with the lower, wider and more stable Explorer chassis for the US from the start?

I don't know why everybody gets so bothered by the ST, that second truck is by no means a beauty either.

The T6 Ranger comes in 4dr version, and as far as I know it is still available in Mexico
T6 Ranger:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_(T6)
BT-50 was earlier version, also available in 4dr: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_BT-50

They fall under common "International Ranger" name, and are so close to F-150 dimensions that Ford wouldn't sell them in Canada/US

The 2015 T6 is a nice looking truck: http://www.cheatsheet.com/automobiles/meet-the-2015-ford-ranger-you-wont-be-buying.html/?a=viewall

Electric power steering assist, hmmmm, better MPG, but in any case QUIETER than Ford's current pumps

Dude!... The first one pictured, chop it, put a 7 foot bed on. Drop one of those newer Mustang v8's in it and paint it! That could be a sweat truck.
