4.0l 4x4 crap MPG first time ford owner

Wow! lots of attitude here. I went to unoh back when it was still northwestern auto/diesel. If you dont take the effort to educate yourself then dint knock those that do. You only show a sour grapes attitude by presenting that argument.

To the poster that suggested maf cleaning it spears to be working. Thanks alot! Sometimes the simplest things are overlooked thats what was meant by the "house" reference. Even a self proclaimed smart guy needs differing oppinions to arrive at a proper conclusion.

200 miles on this tank with a 1/4 to go I'm hoping for 275-300 but it's getting better.

sounds like the old story 4.o = 4 cyl power and 5.o fuel mileage i got 3.27 gears and 33's 4.slo and a 5spd with a 15 gal tank i get 200 miles thats it

Wrong, some counties in the USA don't require emission testing. Therefore, exactly how is it illegal? Also, farm trucks (with farm plates) don't require catalytic converters because it can cause fires.

Just because some counties doesn't mean that it isn't against FEDERAL LAW and subject to a $10,000 fine for removing it.
