I was tightening the bolts after getting my gasket for this and broke off a big chunk of the thermostat housing. Thing was pretty rusty on the inside so makes sense and isn't a bad idea to change it anyway, but I can't find this part anywhere. Does anyone know the part number? All I see is the lower thermostat housing when I look.

Current thought is to try one from a 1979 mustang 2.8l v6. It looks similar enough except there is an extra long heater hose connection point and an extra threaded hole for some connection. Maybe i can find a stubby bolt and put some teflon around it to block the extra hole.

Good luck - maybe someone on here has one. 2.8's in general are few & far between these days so I'd say use the Mustang part if you can get it and make it work. The threaded hole is more than likely tapered pipe thread as opposed to straight threads on a bolt so you can probably get a plug in the plumbing section at your hardware store.
