Has anyone made a york compressor fit in the factory ac compressor location on a 4.0? I'm in the process of doing a 4.0 swap and I'm going to swap the york compressor from my 2.9 to this motor. I've used the search and I can't seem to find anyone that's done a writeup on it. I've got an 86 with a 1" body lift and I was wondering if it would clear the hood if I stood it straight up. It looks like I'm going to need about 10" of space above the mount to do it, I just don't think I'm going to be able to...

Actually I'm in the process of mounting my Yorks too. 3" Bl and it sits ontop of the old 4.0L a/c mount with hood room to spare. I'll get some pics when it's actually all mounted up.

You can use your current compressor also. It just needs some air tool oil every once in a while. It works and it is fast. Will pump up a 4 gallon tank in 42 seconds.

Main reason I'm using the york? I already have one, and I really like it.

4 pumps in 4 years with an inline oil injector....they don't take the abuse well at all.

I've got a york I've been meaning to put in place of it for sometime now....should really get around to building a bracket for it.

Got my serpentine clutch today, going to attach it to my spare pump and see how I can mount it up, I'll keep you posted

I plan on keeping my V belt clutch on mine and just making V belt pulley that will attach to the power steering pump on top of the serp pulley that is on it.
