which york for oba on 4.0

Has anyone done this on the RBV? Brackets that would make it possible to use the stock mounting position? Is there a particular model # that allows use of the stock pulley? Can these be made compatible with stock ac length belt? The tech. info is a little vague. dose anyone have some more specific info. I have searched some, but haven`t found much for RBV`s

My ac took a dump along time ago and I have the stock bracket sitting there waiting for me to do something like the york. When I built my truck I mounted a viaire compressor, it works but is so slooow its painful. Airing up at the end of the trail is 45 min. to get 35lbs. in my 37x12.5x15`s. I have seen a company that has complete kits for any jeep you can think of also Chev. and dodge, but nothing for ford.
If there was an emergency and I needed to get on the road it would not be good taking that long to get going once you get to pavement.

question is, would it run all the time, or would the clutch be hooked up to a pressure switch type deal? or would you just have the pump run when you needed air, and no tank?

Tiny, what is the specs on your rig? I like info. It's a 91 but what else? More info would get more results!

If you can't find a york that will work just pick up another stock compressor. I ran an oba system on my FSB for quite a while with a factory compressor. It is a little more work but you can put an inline oiler at the inlet and a seperator on the outlet. It worked well for me.

the super 35 is 31 splines and is different length than the 44 inner has to be made special.

Nifty....I like it.

I started on a bracket to mount a York 210 on my 4.0L in my 91...never did get it finished or install it. I was going to run a V belt clutch on it (already have one) and then run a secondary V belt pulley off of my powersteering pump The bracket will mount to the top of the factory mount. The compressor will sit on its side.

As for using the stock style compressors.....they just don't last. The older style found on the 2.9L seem to last forever, but the 4.0L version just can't handle it. Works good for a while then eats itself up.

I had a piece of 1/4" plate broke into a u shape and got a piece of 1/4" x 6" flat to fill the opening. I am going to fit and weld it and make an air tank.
What are you thinking???
I am going to cope the ends in the shape of the stock bumper and mount it like stock. the stock bumper is 6"x6" if it was a tube.
