Looking for a 4.0 OHV in running condition! Working on a 1996 ranger, so I would like anything from 1996-2000…. If anyone has something like this in the north idaho/Spokane area… let me know! I can pick up almost any time!

Just here to say hello! I'm in Sandpoint area. I haven't seen any Late model 4.0s for sale. Ive been looking for a good running early 90s one, but haven't had much luck.

Hello! That’s too funny, I’m also in the sandpoint area. I’ve got one late model 4.0, but it’s being reserved for my sons B2 build.

Haha small world. I have a spare engine but I don't know if its any good, i'm gonna pull it out of the explorer this spring. My 4.0 in my ranger is pretty tired and smoking. If you need any explorer parts D35, 8.8 parts leaf springs and what not, ive got extra.

I have a mint 4.0L OHV out of my 2000, it only has 8,000 miles on it. Both the truck and the engine have been stored in my climate controlled garage since I bought them new in march of 2000. I also have the M5OD-r1 manual as well.

Not sure if it's in your budget or what I would even want for it. Just throwing it out there.

I can ship it LTL on a pallet very cheaply as long as it can go to any business location not a residential home address.

That sounds expensive lol but what do you want for it ?

Honestly I don't have any idea what it would be worth, as I've never seen any low mileage ones for sale. I am open to offers, and won't be offended. Feel free to Message me privately if you like.

I think I found a low mile 4.0. It’s a 98 explorer with just over 100k that sprung a leak at the front of the engine. Looks to me like the lower intake possibly the timing cover let go…. Not entirely sure yet till
I get it home.
