ok i know it's probably what u thought it was gonna be so sorry for that, so to start, when im out in the woods and stop on a hill and try to get going again i have that dreaded role back that u can't help with a standard, and u gotta have that third leg which unfortunantly my third leg isn't long enough nor strong enough :icon_rofl:. have heard of hand throttles, so i went and took the brake lever and cable and mounted it on the shifter, then ran the cable thru the firewall then up over the engine where the pedal cable attaches to the engine, then made my own mount to hold the casing from move in and out with the cable, then last but not least i took a pop rivet and took the nail peice out and put it on the cable and ran the other end back in to make a loop then crimpped it and put the loop around the cruise control and it works great can hit 55 with this set up:) i wouldnt recommend using it on the road nor as a cruise control, it is used so u can start on steep inclines, keep rpm's up while using winch or oba, or when going over rocky roads so u dont keep hitting the gas over every bump causeing ur truck to jerk around. if anyone wants to do it i can post pics plus once u have all ur parts cut/right size it only takes 15 mines to complete and about 10 bucks

You've got to know this is coming 509.....

:worthless:

hey benny if ur head hurts from trying to read it then dont read it, this isnt school and im not being graded so im not gonna any punctuation really and my writing will suck, and shane i figured u or dg whould be the ones to say that lol, it is dark right now so i will get some in the morning

You can make a Tech Bulletin and submit it in the Submit Info section near the top...but you need to use a template...sounds like something I was thinking of doing years ago but mine was simply a hand brake that could be used instead of the foot pedal for the emergency brake...

Anyway, the title attracted me like flies to...ah, no, like teens to, ah, not that either...but it did catch my attention...lol

So if I understand what you are saying is that because we are out of school there is no point in typing like a complete idiot? Well my parents stopped potty training me a few years ago, I guess I should start pooping my pants now. No that I think about it, back in high school I took drivers ed, but what the hell. I'm not in drivers ed any more, I can drive however I want......

What a joke.....

why wouldnt you just engage the e brake, and then start letting out on the clutch and giving it throttle and then releasing the e brake when you feel the truck trying to move forward (if that makes sense)? then you don't roll back and requires no modifications.

well rose my ebrake got stuck on up at walmart and i was in a hurry so i cut the cable so i have no ebrake now

benny if all ur gonna do is complain about my writing get out, i'll have u know i passed every wasl and hspe that i took, the most i missed was 5 points and that was on my math section. I can write damn good when i want to, but as i have said i don't feel the need to on a forum that doesn't grade me nor pay me. When it comes to work, i write just fine, just cause you want to down grade someone on how they write on a forum, shows how much faith i have in humanity if u freak out over some spelling and punctuation in ones writing. Now go on and get off my thread.

It's a reasonable idea that's been done before. You can also achieve reasonable hill starts by learning a technique call heal and toe or by using a block of wood with a piece of string attached. Whatever dingles your dongler.

Yup heel and toe..

I'm interested in pictures. I have a granny low first gear in mine so it's not hard to get mine going on an incline. I too lack an ebrake.

I did the hand lever thing, I've only ever used it off road once, to drive up the front steps of my buddys house, I've always been pretty good at taking off on hills and such. I use it regularly as an idler for my oba compressor though. My parking brake kind of works but it's a bastardized setup made from the original 86 pedal assembly and the 95 cables, might need to fix that soon
