Well then...hmm...maybe I will get a 4406 and front shaft from a F150 and use the short shaft from the back of one and see what happens. I am tempted to not even put on the AWD t-case

All 9.75" axles are metrc, which is about a 1/16" larger than the standard pattern. You can take a 9.75" rotor, drill it out to 9/16", and it'll fit the 5x5.5 ford pattern...

I'm not in a rush, just accumulating parts right now. With a little luck I'll find a transfer case and driveshafts cheap over the next few months and then really search for a donor vehicle in the spring. In the mean time there's plenty of small stuff to do on the truck like a 1" body lift, contour fan, etc to pave the way for the swap.
