i am buying a set of rims from my sisters bf and they have 35 inch trail cutters on them. im thinkin bout getting the tires with them. my torsion bars are already cranked, and im gonna put bigger blocks in the back. if i would put a body lift on it too, would i be able to fit the 35s under it without cutting out my fenders or choppin my bumper? also will it be real hard on my clutch? if its just a bad idea i'll just go with 31s.

For a daily driver, I'd go with 31's. Putting 35's on for some wheeling may be cool because you are using low range, but you'll be stressing everything way more than it needs to be.

If you still are going to do it, I had a friend in high school that had 35's on his Ranger with 3" Body and T-Bar crank. There was a little rubbing up front, but nothing major.

Just sawzall the hell out of the fenders.

One of the off road mags put 40s or somethin on a stock taco by hacking all sorts of shit, but no suspension lift.

The 35 and 8.8" can take 35" meats if you're gentle and don't wheel like an idiot.

maybe ill do the body lift and block in the rear and put them on and see how it does for a little, if i feel its too hard ill put 31s on it. my truck has the factory fender flares on it, do they have more space than the regular fender or the same? i liked what littlebigfoot said bout sawzall the hell out of it. but its good to hear that it would only rub a little with the 35s.

i ran 35s with no lift(no garbage body lift either) but i had fiberglass fenders. i did rub in the rear when articulating but no rubbing in the front.

did the fiberglass fenders have more clearance than factory ones? if not i might wait for the body lift and just do the bigger blocks, or maybe even add a leafs in the rear. 31s are nice but i would like to put some bigger meats on the sombich.

oh ya! these were 3" wider and a 3" rise. theres even 6" wide and 6" rise fiberglass fenders that you can get. theres alot of options for rangers. i bought my set on ebay for under $250 and painted them myself.

whatever you do, dont be a poser and get a bodylift. just my opinion.

And a body lift makes you a poser because? It has different purposes than a suspension lift, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Susension lift, body lift nethier one will give you better ground clearence, it's the bigger tires that do. So unless you need the better suspension for crawling over ruff turrain they both serve the same purpose to get more ground clearence by fitting bigger meats under your rig. Just the suspension lift cost more and has more involved.
BTW with t'bar craked all the way you should be able to at least put 32s or 33s on insted of 31s which would be alot better all around.

i was already thinkin bout goin with 33s as a happy medium. i dont know if my tbars are cranked all the way, they are cranked enough to level the truck. now my ass sags when i have alot of weight in the back, which is why i want either bigger blocks or a addaleaf. thanks guys.

Their is a real happy and vehicle friendly halfway point between 31's and 35's known as 33's. They are your best bet.

I'm very happy with my B/L. It did just what I needed it to, it enabled me to fit 285/75's(33.7 in), and not rub. If you want 35's, a B/L, shackles, and fiberglass front fenders will do just fine. It will look great, and you can do it all for less then a grand.

..........

and statements like this is why u and i butt heads from time to time.....i have built several rangers, most with body lifts, inorder to create clearance for a small block, 4spd etc, and i garuntee u my "POSER" trucks would go further off the beaten trail then yours will.

that being said, with the t-bar cranked some blocks in the back and a body lift u should fit the 35's but rubbage will be a issue

I have a B/L , that makes me a poser ?? Wow, I had no idea :icon_confused:

What does the Skyjacker suspension lift , 34" LTB's and a blower make me ??

well im gonna wait a little, i got layed off last wed, only supposed to be off for a few weeks, but low on dough. the ranger the wheels and tires came off of was a 84 with no lift, just fenders cut out. now it has a 6 inch lift and 37s under it. i think if i modify the fenders, i might be able to fit them w/out the bl. maybe if i just take off the flares i would have more room. does anyone know, are the 265x75r15s the metric equivalent of 31s, mine are wore down almost to the indicater between the tread, so i need to do something soon.
