to me it seems like the goal ought to be fitting the biggest tires you can while keeping the center of gravity as low as possible. im not even going to bother buying a lift for my ifs, i was under the impression that 33's was about the biggest it could handle up front; maybee im wrong but i have 32's or damn close to it with no problems and not even a t-bar crank. you should see how much a junk yard would charge you for fenders, and try to cut the openings wider. maybee a factory f150 or super duty fender flair would fit on it and then you could have a cleaner looking fender.
EDIT: i wouldnt think you would have to take out the inner fender if you were just trimming your fenders, im not positive but i thought there was about 2 in before you got to it(again i might be wrong). and as for the bumper, it will just give you better approach angles
