35s? or 33s?

Ya, it's got a 7.5 out back....It is mostly a DD, with occasional trail (mud/gravel). Since trying to find a 8.8 that would work, is almost as hard as finding a bed for it, I am thinking the wiser decision will be to go with 33s for now, with a re-gear...

If at all possible, it'd be worth it to get an 8.8 and re-gear that instead. The pinions start to get pretty small on the 7.5s with those deep gears. I guess that'd be another reason to get 33s.

The problem is trying to find a 8.8 over here that would work with the Ranger. I have looked thru plenty of strip lots on various bases, and nada....For the sake of playing the devil's advocate, I saw in the TRS shop that Yukon makes the 5.13 gear for a 7.5...For DD and occasional (not that often) trail use, would it be terrible to get it and put it in? Too bad my stangs' 8.8 won't work...already have a 4.30 in it..

Yeah, you'd probably be alright. You're 2wd and only have the 2.3, so you probably have the best chance.

You can always go and get an explorer 8.8" and have someone weld perches on the other side. It would have the 31 spline that would be stronger then the rangers 27 spline 8.8" and you ahve the option of finding one with disc brakes

I might just go ahead and do that Sunk... As I said, it gets occasional trail use, with mostly being used as a DD.

Nater why are you thinking the stangs rear won't work? Width?

Cause you can clean them up and run them, how is the beast coming along anyway?

I would do 35's personally, going that route and honestly probgably with the Yoko's as well:)

Trev-The reason I say the stang's gears won't work is that they are a 8.8 gear not 7.5 ...

Oh, thought you were talking about swapping the rear out of the Batmobile into the truck, I'm planning on Full width's when i get to that point but I don't ahve to worry about TUV anymore - although i do miss Germany quite a bit man.
