I have searched and haven't been able to find really any answers to a few questions.

Has anyone used, or knows if parts from a 1991 F150 would fit for a swap.

Main parts of concern are...
Exhaust manifolds
Front accessory Drive (A/C, Power Steering, waterpump, alternator)

The donor is a 1991 Ford F150, 302, 2wd, a/c.

My vehicle is a 1984 B2, 2.8, c5. I already have a rebuilt c4 to swap output shafts with the C5 and drop in to keep driveline lengths the same and motor mounts.

I am hoping to be able to keep the radiator in the stock position without moving it forward and tucking it up under the support, keeping the air conditioning system operational, convert to the serpentine belts off the truck, and delete the smog air pump.

I think I can come up with a shorter belt and just leave the air pump off and bypass where the pulley would have been.

I also have access to a shop that can make the a/c lines up to match the stock B2 fittings to the newer a/c compressor.

I am just trying to get a little information before I pull all the parts off the truck and start pulling my engine out of the bronco. Any insights would prove very helpful.

Thanks.

If you want to keep the AC condenser and rad in the stock position, you will need the front accessories and brackets form a '96-'01 5.0 Explorer. or a '94/'95 Mustang. Late 5.0 Cougars had a system similar to the Mustang.

Both style use different alt and ps pump configurations.

You can use the F150 FEAD, but you will need to move the rad.

So does anyone know if the exhaust manifolds clear the frame/steering/transfer case?

I am going to start looking for an explorer set of parts then I guess.

fixt ! :d

He will also need to swap the oilpan to a dual sump fox body pan, the F150 pan doesn't clear the suspension and steering linkage.

The actual motor I am planning on using is out of a 1984 mustang. So I have a foxbody pan already to go. I just need to get the FEAD figured out and exhaust. I was told the swap headers I have won't work as they were for a 2 wheel drive so I am researching if the 91 F150 parts truck's exhaust manifolds would work.

Since I want to keep the stock location for a/c condenser and radiator I need to start looking for a different vehicle to rob the FEAD parts from.

I am also trying to get to a serpentine belt setup and stock radiator location. That is causing all the issues.

The F150 motor is is the better candidate. Although it's got a flat tappet cam, the block is a roller block and all that's needed is to swap the cam, lifters and tiedown hardware for the lifters, plus the pushrods to go roller. The 84 block is a lightweight casting and the heads are boat anchors. The crank is nothing to write home about either.

Just another note on the FEAD systems-
If you Explorer stuff, you need the balancer, as the crank pulley and balancer are one piece.
The sn95 crank pulley will bolt to the earlier 5.0 balancer.

I don't think the exhaust mannifolds from the 150 will clear the steering or the frame. If you can find em, late 60s or early 70s mannifold fit with room to spare. I think a few others have used the 88400 headmans as they are made to fit where the above mentioned mannifolds fit. Lots of luck

Unfortunately I have a set of hedmann 89500's I am pretty sure wont work and an aluminum swap radiator that I got good deals on but requires removal of a/c... parts to put up for sale I suppose, and keep looking for what I need.

Timing cover too, pretty much everything off the front of the engine. Prime oppertunity to grab the near HO cam, lifters, lifter hardware and pushrods too.

88400's worked for me.

91-94 Explorer radiator mounts in the stock mounts, there are a lot of guys that get along great with them.

The 89500's will work, just that the passenger side header leaves a lot to be desired the way it dumps straightdown into the axle underneath. Starter removal is tricky too.

That is the first time I have heard that. Everyone I have talked to about said they wouldn't clear the axle.

Notice the passenger side header and where it dumps.

My stock '79 Cougar manifold's exit area looked like the 88400's but dumped down instead of back and the prior owner severely notched the frame to allow the exhaust to clear the frame. Sort of like these Mustang shorty's (Hedman 88380's):

The header collector clears fine. It's when you go to run the exhaust off it that you run into issues with the axle. I tried these and used the tightest 90* elbow Summit listed and the first time I bottomed the axle in a pot hole (on a grass covered road that hid the hole:annoyed:) The axle closed the elbow by half. Others have used them and claimed to have success, but after the experience I had with em, I swore off em and looked for another solution. I tried a used set of Hooker swap headers (that may not have been, coming from an ebay buy) then modded a pass side 65-66 Stang 351W swap header, then went to Shelby Tri-Y's.
