TODAY I DECIDED THAT SENSE I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY FLUID IN MY
Toyo Koygo 5-Speed MAZDA TRANSMISSION THAT I WOULD REPLACE THE TRANNY PAN GASKET TOO SO I SENT MY GIRLFRIEND TO THE PART STORE TO GET ME WHAT I NEEDED WHILE I STARTED TO SAVE TIME AND GUESS WHAT AUTO ZONE, ADVANCED AUTO PARTS AND OREILLYS AUTO PARTS DON'T CARRY THE TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET!
MY TRANSMISSION PAN HAS A 12 BOLT LAY OUT BUT THE PEOPLE AT THE AUTO PART STORES ARE SAYING IT DOESN'T EXIST. I AM 110% SURE I HAVE A Toyo Koygo 5-Speed MAZDA TRANSMISSION. WTF THIS WHOLE BUILD FOR ME HAS BEEN SCREWED UP LIKE THIS ALWAYS A DAM SNAG SLOWING ME DOWN!

SHOULD I CALL THE FORD DEALERSHIP? I DON'T WANT TO PAY 1000 DOLLARS FOR A DAM GASKET!

CAN I USE RTV SILICONE GASKET STUFF?:

OR SHOULD I CALL A STORE THAT SPECIALIZES IN TRANSMISSION PARTS?

im not sure but it may not even have a gasket, most likely black rtv should work. ask the ford dealer if it has one. ive never had one apart.

It had a gasket that is broke in half now!!

i dont see where you couldnt use rtv? autozone and advanced have a habbit of telling people it doesnt exsist, when it is actually a dealer only part. or you could get gasket material and make one with a ball peen hammer. you can get the matterial for about $3-5 bucks.

and btw most times dealers are just as cheap as autozone, if not cheaper. when it comes to certain things, i know because i work at a dealer. most people just assume it is cheaper aftermarket

Are you sure that i can use RTV? I can't afford any more fluid and stuff!!

if you use black you should be ok. was it a cork gasket? if you dont want to do that, i would just call the ford dealer. they probably got one in stock. my guess around $5-15 bucks. it doesnt hurt to call them.

Not sure if the cork gasket material sheets they sell at the parts stores would be big enough, but I would personally do one of two things. Either call the dealer, which they should have it for reasonably cheap, like pillen140 said, probably under $15. Or just use the black rtv. This is what I use on my rear diff cover, and haven't had a problem yet, I even used it to seal up a leaky fuel cell, so you know the stuff is good if it holds up to gas.

Even if you get the gasket from the dealer, I'd still smear a little of the black rtv on it just to make sure it seals.

Don't even bother. Ultra-black RTV is far more than adequate for a manual transmission.

FYI, you said you used THREE different transmissions, which might be the source of the confusion.

1. TK (5 or 4 speed) = 14 bolt aluminum ribbed pan.
2. Mitsu (FM145, FM146 or FM132) = 12 bolt stamped steel pan
3. Mazda = NO pan

Guess what the transmission shops said there isn't an after market gasket and the FORD
DEALERSHIP said they don't carry the gasket anymore.
