So we finally got our orders this morning and.....

As of April 26th, 2010, I'll be assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division in Fort Lewis, Washington.

I'm freakin excited! Even though the unit deploys in July, I'm still looking forward to getting into the real Army and out of training.

Anyone else here ever been a part of the 2nd INF?

Ex Navy here, but Congrats! I have a nephew in the sandbox right now,I thought his unit was out of Fort Lewis,I'll have to check with my brother on that. Anyway,I couldn't wait to get out of basic and into the real game,Well Done!:icon_cheers:

Thanks Skip

Ex-Navy? Ran into some Navy people at the burger king on-base here at Fort Jackson a couple weeks ago, some top notch guys. Where were you stationed at?

I'm supposed to be part of the 3rd Stryker Brigade I believe... which is going to be awesome. As a 91B I'll get to "play" with the strykers pretty often. You know which unit your nephew is in?

Hooah!! i was Army reserve from 03 to 09, got out as a SGT and did 12 months in Iraq in OIFII 04-05. congrats and thanks for serving man! good luck

I was satationed in Sasebo and Yokosuka in the seventies and San Diego in the early eighties. I got to ride two supply ships,One frigate, one cruiser and one Spruance destroyer(gas Tubine).

I'm not sure which unit my nephew is in,I'll try to get that info soon. I do know he is out of fort lewis and in Iraq on his second tour.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. :)

Skip, sounds like you've seen your fair share of travel.

Hoosier, Officer Corps eh? Yeah I heard the buffet is pretty good, supposedly the cheese gives you the runs though so be careful. :icon_rofl:

Also I found this neat bit for forum signatures for military people...check this out

Yeah I like it alot... lol dang your chevrons! I hope to make E-5 in like 4/5 years. I at least want to be a specialist by the time my next 3 years is up. E-1 pay sucks, lol.

ha ha yeah it does but you wont stay that rank for long. i had my specialist within 2 years and i stayed there for a while. its a good rank though but i got tired of doing the job of an E-5 and E-6 as a 4 because my unit was short on NCO's so i put in for my E-5 for the extra pay. they gave me a squad which was cool, i enjoyed it.
