289 swap

thats a sweet engine choice. IMO better than a big block, saves weight. Nothing like built small block power.

I would be willing to bet you could pay someone to build and install it for less then 7 grand.

There is a shop around here that charged a guy a little over 5 grand for the rebuild and install.

theres a performance shop down here that for 7k you will have a built to the balls motor and trans with a 15k miles no questions asked warranty (as long as u dont run nitrous)

thats building it, motor and trans, breakin, installation and full exhaust

i'm not sure how much they charge, im pretty sure the one at shaw AFB where my dad was previously stationed was close to $30 an hour. although it did have pretty much any tool you'd need in there incl stuff like hydraulic presses and vehicle lifts
I'm not going to compromise you on asking where you'll be in the states, but if you're in or near central Louisiana, I'll help you out on shop space.

hahaha dam...i just moved from that particular area, i'm in washington

well when i said that region, i really ment south east US.

I was at Ft Gordon Augusta GA until around feb 13

really man, i would shop around if any of us were you, we rather just not see a fellow ranger owner get hosed on the price of what there buying

sweet, idk about some marines though...

my dads a CMSGT (E-9 in the airforce) and he told me about how when he was is saudi arabia during UAF that some marines had killed an airman and threw him out of a 3rd story window.....though most of the people i talked to about pretty much everything in kuwait were marines

yeah, you can do a 302 and dress it as a 289. Add a front timing chain cover for the 289 (for the dipstick) and pan and pickup.

for that kind of money i say build a 347 twin turbo in ur barracks at the end of ur bed LOL

That dipstick won't work with the dual sump oilpan you have to use with a RBV.
