Real honest trim adds wind drag and noise.

A lot of vehicles have kind of a wimpy rubber gasket type thing, I don't know how much impact protection it would provide.

You could drive in reverse all the time. That way no rocks would hit the windshield.

No, scratch that, probably not practical

I’ve bought it before, but I couldn’t find it in a three minute search, but there was a vinyl (not rubber) C channel available by the roll that slips over the edge of the glass. My thinking is if the windshield is just glued in, why not put that C on the windshield before you glue it down which should protect the edge. Probably should put a little bit of the glue inside that C channel as well so you don’t get any drips migrating around the inside of the channel.

We used it on some of our commercial vehicles back in the day on the side windows. When you put it on the glass, you may have to warm it with a heat gun to go around the corners without warping and making waves on the face, or you may have to do little tiny diagonal cuts, so it will mold/curve correctly.

I’ll try to look again and see if I can find it
