2014 Tundra "Poop" Color

I was wondering if I am the only person that thinks the new Tundra's brown color option looks like POOP? I am not bashing Toyota, they make a good truck. I almost bought one, but I got my Ranger instead.

Too BAD that FORD has crap colors as well...LOL. Some of the newer Ford trucks are not making me want some of their colors.

The poop is in the inside also

So the limited edition, has the special poop color. That is a very expensive truck to have such a bad paint color. I also see they continued with the poop pallet in the interior. Don't like the interior, to many different colors, it looks confused. Of course I am not big on 2 tone interiors to begin with.

I guess the poop in the inside is good in case you have a accident.

I like the color myself. I think it looks more like root beer then poop.

I have to say that at least the inside looks like a definite poop color. Not sure about the outside, kind of hard to say but it could definitely go that way. :bad:

I hear it's helpful to hide the stains you get in the seats just from driving a Toyota.

Yea, I guess with the gas pedal sticking problem, the maintenance expense, and the uber-quick rust-out of the old ones... it would be enough to make one leave some marks...

My best friend's dad was always talking about how great his Toyota was... until the last time I saw him when he had to change a front wheel bearing. He said it was a major PITA to change and not only that, he got a new wheel bearing only to find that the hub was pressed into it. He couldn't get it pressed out and went back to the dealer to ask how they pressed them out. They told him they don't, they just replace them too. IIRC, he said it cost him like $320 for just the parts to do one side and he ended up spending a day and a half of fighting with it. For the record he is a bit mechanically inclined too....

I work with a guy who is in love with his Toyotas because he never has to fix them and they never break and this and that.

I have worked there 3.5 years, he has had at least 3, I want to say 4 different trucks in that time.

If they are so great why is he trading out of them all the time? He changes trucks more often that I change engines.

Full sun

What until you see it in full sun, Poop for sure. It might be like a pearl paint job that goes from poop to root beer and back to poop as the sun hits it.

I love when people mention the accelerator sticking issues. Hate to tell you folks this, but it was proven to be driver error in all cases. The recall was done to satisfy the media's BS stories.

Haven't had any issues with mine in 6 years. The 2005 Tundra has 123k on it and still going strong. I had more trouble with my 2 Rangers, and Bronco 2 than I've had with any Toyota, Nissan, or my Mazda B2600i.

But hey this is an RBV forum I don't expect anyone here to like anything but their RBV. I bought a Toyota because I am tired of having issues that dealerships can't or refuse to fix. Zero issues with either of my Toyota's.

I will say this for Toyota, they are making a pretty decent effort to address issues and keep the customer satisfied.

back in the mid 90's they had issues with the frames rusting out, and they addressed it by buying the trucks back from the customers at full retail value.

Accelerator pedal sticking issues, they did quite a bit of recall work for those, and those were all driver error.

Sludging engines about 10 or 15 years ago... after finding out there was a manufacturing issue, they made good on that as well.

Try any of the big three for that, and you get a big fat zero...
GM morning sickness on the steering on mid/ late 80's front wheel drive cars (we had three of them and had to eat all three repairs for the tune of $700+ each)

Ford Pinto $7 gas tank explosion fix...

Many Fords starting up, popping into gear, then bursting into flames all by theirselves...(not just the cars, but their deisel tractors too..My grandpa had two different tractors do this to him, one nearly burned down his barn...)

there are several other examples out there too I am sure.

Yup, butt ugly...a lady a work drives a yota that color...gives new meaning to the term Turdota cause that's exactly what it looks like, but you can polish it...don't know why you would waste your time on that, but you can.

Sarcasm. You missed the sarcasm.

I am well aware of the fact that the gas pedal sticking was largely user error. Just like the Explorer flipping over when a tire blew out.

The brown outside color looks pretty sharp, wouldn't bother me at all on a different truck. I have a friend that had a F-150 in a similar color it was sharp too. The interior just looks... confused.

Ford tractors are very popular in Europe... and that is what makes them so bass-akwards here, right down to the Lucas electrical system. I love my Ford trucks but I really don't care much at all for their farm equipment, well dad has a Dearborn 3pt blade I like but other than that...

Of course Ford couldn't bring itself to use Delco electronics like the other big players in the US farm world...

If Ford tractor fires are actually common it wouldn't surprise me too much if the vast majority were insurance fraud. Otherwise mice+wiring=fire is far from unheard of on the farm. I was driving my old John Deere the other day and had two mice bail out from behind the grille screens.

Don't forget, Ford did the same thing with gen 1 rangers, they had brown paint jobs from the factory. Take off the dark gray and primer of my cab shell and you find that I've been polishing a turd for years (or just open the door and look on the inside, has the original brown painted inside still).
