2014 Tundra "Poop" Color

'95 Club Cab two wheel drive, the boxy ones. The only wind noise I hear is a healthy 5.2 magnum barking out of two 3" tail pipes :3gears:

All the money that is NOT used to sustain the company and pay employees is under direct control of the Germans, yes (my pay check is even signed electronically with the company presidents name, a German). Same with Toyota. I'm not saying Toyota makes bad vehicles by any means, nor did I say all of the money you paid for your truck went right to Japan.

Anyhow back on topic. Toyota as well as all other manufacturers come out with some pretty weird paint colors from time to time. I've seen several Volkswagens with some pretty nasty puke green paint colors on them.

How about the Harlequin Golfs?

Now that I think of it wildbill, I've been through Emmett before. I was in Boise visiting my sister and her boyfriend back in 2007 and they took the long way up to Ontario, OR for whatever reason. I dont remember much of it anymore.

You didn't miss anything this town sucks. From Boise it would have been much faster getting on the freeway off Eagle Road and going into Ontario that way, going through Emmett is kind of going backwards really because you end up stuck on a 2 lane highway the whole way with idiots who can't drive the speed limit.

Nope you didn't miss anything by not remembering Emmett LOL.

Built in Texas with parts from Arkansas, Kentucky, and a few other states. Less than 20% of parts comes from Japan, mostly the electronics are Japan. Bet you guys start looking around your trucks you'll find a ton of foreign parts on your "American" truck.

5% difference between a '150, big whoop.

I am amazed the Ranger had that high of a content with a german V6, Japanese 4cyl and manual trans. The auto is of a french design but I don't know where they crawled out of...

Not really because I set out to do it but at this moment it my Ranger is pretty much all American... but I am shopping for a Japanese transmission.

LOL, yep Toyota is more American than the so called "American" companies. People just can't get it through their heads when they buy a "Big 3" vehicle they're buying a foreign car more so than if you buy what used to be a foreign name. Toyota has had a headquarters in California since the early 80's and have had Toyota vehicles here in the US since 1957. They've started building vehicles here in the US in the 80's and in the most recent cycle have started building almost all the components with the exception of electronics here in the US. Hino also has a few manufacturing facilities here in the US which is the heavy duty Toyota Truck manufacturing company which produces the diesel engines for Toyota.

This is a Ford site, why would anyone talk good about another manufacturer on here. What I find funny is like you my Rangers and Bronco 2 were built in the US, but when it comes time to replace parts those parts come from China, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, etc. WTF. Oh add to that the majority of those parts are rebuilt and rebuilt terribly for that matter.

What I was getting at is 5% isn't that big of a difference on the fullsizes. That was 5 years old too.

I know my 5.4 was made in Windsor Canada, if the guy drawing the borders had a ruler it would easily be in the US... so that counts as imported. Ford has shifted most of their V8 engines to the Romeo plant in MI now though.

I here you on imported replacement parts, it gets old dealing with junk... but that is the nature of the beast dealing with old stuff. I get my fill of it every day working a parts counter at a farm repair shop. Just found a new Chinese made coil that dumped oil all over the shelf this morning...

Firm believer in used parts for my cars. That way, I know it worked at one time. New parts scare me. You have no assurance that they ever worked. Mostly they do, but sometimes you get a dud.

Car colors are like the widths of neck ties. A guy mentioned the browns in gen 1 RBVs. Yup, my first two 80s Wagoneers were brown. Not a fan, but it hid the rust well. I like the color of the Rat . Its that blueish green. The only time I paid to have a car painted, I went for a Spruce green metallic. The grey and silver and no bling colors blend in with the road. I wouldn't own a red car, but at least I can see them in the mirrors.

To be sure, it would be better to keep the money in the country. But if it gives Americans a job, thats a good thing. It is better to be working, than not. AMHIK. It is good to have a manufacturing base, People have to produce goods, not just move ones and zeros on the interwebz. I hope the people assembling Tundras live long and prosper.

And on the other hand you already have a used one...
