werent they were gonna offer the eco-boost V6 in 2011?

I think they are holding off releasing the performance motors untill later in the show. Notice we havent heard anything about the V8's.

Well, at least, for now, you get one with a manual tranny. Just wiat until these things some miles on them and the electronics go nuts...THAT is gonna be ugly, and expensive.

sheesh, now the girly v6 mustang is actually gonna have some balls, can't wait to see the 17 year old girls wrecking these because they've got too much power.

cars have had a lot of electronics for years now....hell my Buick is full of electronics, and at 141k miles they all still work, with the exception of the heater vent controls that went goofy when I first got the car, but other than that no issues. Last I saw, this was ford, not Jag. :icon_rofl:

The standard 2.73 rear axle provides an ideal blend of cruising fuel economy and acceleration

With that, it wont be that quick.

wow now my girl wants one...hhaha hell so do i...saince the stang is going to get that for a 3.7 for a v6...how about us?

The new v8 for the Mustang is sapose to be a 5.0L modular putting out 400hp and around 400 tq. Well, so what's been roumered. If I can find something online about it I'll link it here for yall.

That's hilarious. What electronics are you referring to? There hasn't been a carbureted vehicle in the US since '91. Electronics being all over vehicles is nothing new, and they work just fine.

That's gonna be one sweet Mustang. But with all these upgrades it makes me wonder how much longer the solid axle will be around.

Well the current D2C chassis underpining the S-197 Mustang came out in 2005 so assuming a 9 year model run we won't see a new chassis until 2014. Ford also said in their 2006 "Way Forward" restructuring plan they weren't currently working on a new RWD chassis so the D2C could be underneath the Mustang for a while, like the FOX platform. The FOX platform worked fine and they even revamped it into the FOX-4 so we could see some D2C revamps. If the new chassis does work in IRS (like the Australian Falcon has, which apparently fits under the 'Stang) we may not see it until later even. Ford has does wonders with the live axle setup so don't discount it. Although the D2C platform does shar some of its naughty bits with the DEW98 platform which had four-wheel independent suspension so you never know.
