3.0 engine, 5 speed manual. when running in snow for the first time today, and it did pretty good. however, when going uphill, it would randomly buck and clunk. rpm wouldnt change, and it didnt do it at all when running on flat or downhill ground. it almost felt like letting out the clutch pedal way too fast and stalling the truck (not that anyone has ever done that). any suggestions? not sure if it would do this is one wheel lost traction and then regained it?

it does not do this in 4lo towing the boat up the ramp. nor has it ever done it in 4hi around the farm or at the camp where its mud - but i was never going over 10 mph there.

this was happening in 3rd gear, 30 mph, 2200 rpm. 4:10 rear end, no limited slip on the rear (not sure if the front would have it?) any suggestions what to look for? thanks.

It could just be tire slippage.

dad rode with me today afterwards, and described it as letting off the gas for half a second, then tapping it
