I need to get a new ECU apparently for mine after doing a 2.3 to 4.0 SOHC swap. The shop it's at to try and fix a "no crank/no start" wants an ECU that works with their tuning software, HPTuners only supports 2007 and newer.
So, can I use an ECU programed for a 2007/2008 in my 2006? Because trying to find a 4.0, Manual, that's an '06 in a junkyard or something that I can snag the VIN has been a pain
It has an ECU from a 2001 Explorer in it right now
