My credo
Work hard and play harder
I finally made my mind up that my first mod is going to a HID kit for the truck. I will post up pics and do a nice write on the install. This winter I will be doing the same mod to my CBR.

I am going with a slim ballast. eBay is your friend. The kit is $67 shipped to my door. :yahoo::icon_hornsup:

Check DDMTuning before you order. Their prices are around the same, but their customer service reputation is excellent.

Ok so after doing a little more research, I have opted to go the "Legal" route and purchase the projector housing as well. :annoyed: Just means I need to save up a little longer. :flipoff::damnit1:

Not to hijack, but will any projector housing work, so long as it is compatible with the length bulb you are using? I'm considering HID myself, but I'm still researching.

Look on eBay. That is where I am looking. The housing plus HID is $281 shipped.

:clapping: thank you for not being one of those jackasses that think they are cool when they blind everyone

I just real do not feel like getting a ticket mainly. The 6 month rule for "I just got back from Iraq" excuse no longer applies to me since I have been out almost a year now.

i have searched everywhere on the internet trying to find projector head lights for my 07 if you find them post up a link because im pretty sure they don't make them yet for the 01-09

You can get HID bulbs that fit in an H1 socket. Not an issue.

The problem with those is that the housing needs to be correctly built and aimed for an HID light instead of a regular filament light... HID's, since they use an arc of electricity instead of a glowing filament, need to be in the correct housing, otherwise you get the "blinding everyone on the road" symptoms... Plus, it's illegal to have HID's in non-HID housings...

Again, for like the third time, here is my reference,

There are DOT testing files in .pdf format if you would like to see them...
