Hey whats good writing this form, for some help or info with this job. Have a 1990 ext cab ranger with auto and 2.9 v6. Buying a 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe as a whole. Will be swapping over engine as a whole with EEC-IV ecu and complete harness and accessors. Just wondering the little in and outs to perform this project over the 2.9 to 2.3T swap vs the standard 2.3 n/a swap to the 2.3T. Thank for time to read and any help is appreciated!

More info

The truck is a 1990 ranger ext
cab with the 2.9 V6 and A4LD trans. Great condition with only 94k reading on her. Motor has begun to make worse noise since going from Louisiana county driving to Houston city driving. But going to run the motor till it pops. In the mean time I am acquiring a 1988 thunderbird turbo couple with the T-5 behind it. Engine has 200k but will tear down and rebuild not to so much modify right now, but to run it with normal boost with the turbo engine harness and a piggie back tinker in the future. Looking for 12-17 psi. Will go throught the trany and fresh up the clucths and bearing. Rebuild the 7.5 diff or swap over the tbirds with rear disk.

Looking to swap engine and every thing else nessary for build. Questions are????

Do I use ranger 2.3 motor mounts or will the V6 work?

Will the pipeing be a huge issue?

Will I be able use the tbird harness with the auto trans?

What items are required to relocate in the engine bay?

Is the IHI turbo able to be modified or rebuild able?

Any links for info?

If you have done this swap or have any information that will assist or comments please provide.

IHI turbos are rebuildable. Pipin won't be an huge issue just use your imagination.

I've heard a4ld are complete crap, why don't you keep the t-5 tranny instead
