I am almost positive both computers dont have the same fault probably 1 in 1000 chance and quit possible the sensor got damaged when you were cleaning it or loosening tightening bolts on mine the harness that goes to the knock sensor has a connector up by the coil also that plugged into the emission harness come to think of it

Knock sensor getting messed up makes sense. Complete sense. definitely going to take care of that before removing cats.

OK. Checked out the knock sensor. Looked nice and clean. Pulled off the connector. hmmmmmmmmmmm.........

not sure I like the bare wire situation. Replaced the entire wire and connector set with one from "the stock." By the way. What is the smaller plug (shown below) on the right supposed to hook up to? Because on my truck it is just hanging there.

While I was at it I checked out the O2 Sensor wires and connectors. NOT PRETTY. Wires ended up looking ok and I re-wrapped the O2 wires with a larger size of the plastic wire protector and nearly a roll of electrical tape. Re-routed the wire to avoid it hitting the exhaust again.

Will test drive in a little bit and see if it made a difference/takes care of the 25 code.

good job I hope you get the upper end back the little wire I dont have a clue as my truck is a 83 was the knock sensor on the drivers side block under the manifold the only other thing on on that side of my motor is the oil pressure sensor. hey if you get no codes it runs good I wouldnt worry too much check it for voltage almost looks like a vacuum connector

ok. well. Just got back from the test drive. No change in how it is driving. Still feels like it is bogging down in the low end of each gear. Checked for codes. All good with KOEO. STILL getting the 25 code with KOER. Guess I will flat out change the Knock sensor tomorrow.

As for the small connector in question. It IS electrical. That part of the wiring harness has three wires. Two go to the knock sensor and one goes to the little round connector that isn't hooked up to anything.

oh....and I remelted my O2 sensor "fix"........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
