2.9 engine miss?

during the goose test you can take something metal and tap on the block next to the knock sensor to see if it dumps the code or maybe take the other sensor plug it in and tap it during goose test not sure if it needs to be grounded tho

I will just plug the other one in, ground it out and see what happens.

if you can ground it and tap the same time when you goose it to simulate the pinging actually tapping it with the timing light on and see if it retards the timing

now....the goose test is a quick 1/4 or more throttle rotation during code testing. If I ground the new(er) sensor, turn the truck on, and watch the timing mark while tapping on the sensor.....well....I just don't see how that is possible....are you talking about just running the truck and tapping while watching the timing? or actually doing all that during the actual "goose" test?

It was a while back and just remembered the timing light thing you should see the timing mark jump

or hitting the throttle quickly under normal run conditions to simulate load.

with the vacuum and compression you should have a good truck did you change the valve guide seals while you had it out
